Welcome to Glebe Women!

Awaiting the 2018 Season!

Welcome to the Glebe District Hockey Club Women's page.

What a year 2017 has been! We're all looking forward to a great season in 2018.
Our gradings in the SWHL competition, the highest standard club competition in NSW, have been confirmed for 2018. We will compete in ML1, ML2, ML4 and ML6, with two teams in the SEHA competition.
In 2017 we went from five teams to six; we had happy players, we contributed to fund raising and social activities, we improved our social media presence and three Women's teams did us proud in the last round of the SEHA summer comp. The mixture of First Grade playing with Fifth Grade and everyone else in between has shown Glebe at its best - supportive, determined and inclusive.
Some of the absolute principles for 2018 from our Women's Committee include:
  • We are as committed to the enjoyment and success of Sixth Grade as we are to First Grade
  • We have high expectations of a culture of commitment and hard work at training, particularly for our top three teams
  • We will have a transparent selection process
  • No one should ever miss games because of childcare responsibilities
  • We will strive to provide excellent support personnel to all of our teams including coaches, managers, captains.
Welcome our new committee:
  • Kate Alexander - Women's Director

  • Cecile Crobach - Women's Club Captain

  • Laura Schmahmann - Administrator

  • Tessa Bruin - New Player Support

  • Terrie Iglesias -  Uniforms
A number of our great women will also be assisting across a range of other Directors across the Club including Administration and Development.
Details about trials, training and the 2018 season have been emailed to current players.  Please let us know if you haven't received the updates.  And if you are looking to join a great club in 2018 please email us at gdhcwomen@gmail.com and we would be very happy to welcome you into our Glebe family.
