GLEBE Luminary and Leading light passes away
It is with great sadness that on behalf of the Wark Family the Glebe DHC informs you of the passing of Molly Wark.
Molly passed away peacefully on Sunday 15th January 2017 aged 91. Please see the funeral arrangements down below. All members past and present are most welcome to attend the service. Information regarding the wake will be forthcoming in the next day or so.
During the 2016 season at the age of 91 Molly remained a keen Glebe DHC supporter, frequently attending both Women's and Men's competition games. Attending these games brought Molly great pleasure as she enjoyed conversing with people new to the Club and people she had known for well over 50 years.
Molly was a driving force in the merging of the Glebe DHC and the Glebe Women's Hockey Club in 1991 to form a single entity. The Glebe DHC has now fielded men's and women's teams for over 20 years and the 1991 amalgamation has been by any measure a great success.
All of us, family and friends, will take comfort in the expectation that Molly is now enjoying her eternal reward in Heaven, which God promises to those of Molly's elk, who lead a good life here on earth. The world is a better place as a result of Mollys efforts and activities. She contributed to the betterment of her fellow man, where and when she could. To Mollys, family Harry, Anne, Les, Carole, Mary, Anthony, Patrick, Amy, Gabrielle, Michael, Simon, Elizabeth, Henry, Emily and Vivienne the Glebe District Hockey Club extends its heartfelt condolences.
